The best experience I’ve ever had with outboard maintenance. Very thorough, really friendly and communicative and even took time to show my little son around an engine! Can’t recommend highly enough.

I bought a boat with outboard, which started but failed to work under load the first time I tried to use it. I called Tony because he’s local and the Google Reviews he’s received are great. In fact, as I’ve now found out, they’re spot on! It was a Friday afternoon, Tony called me back very quickly. We arranged that I’d drop off the motor and he’d see what he could do. All very simple, easy and quick so far. A couple of hours later Tony called me with an initial diagnosis and said he’d give it a go at fixing it on Saturday. Already WOW!
On Saturday afternoon I received a text from him to say it was all sorted, so I called and arranged to collect the outboard – a carburettor service, replacement of some other minor parts and a thorough tuning had been given. As I write this on Saturday afternoon, the outboard is back in my garage and due back into service on tomorrow’s tide..
What a great service, clear communications and amazingly fast turnaround! Judging by the other reviews this is not a one-off and I’m happy to recommend Tony’s services without reservation.

I was ready to break my 1982 25hp Evinrude for parts after speaking to a couple of other local outboard mechanics, who told me that based on the age of the engine and a 2 minute description of the issues i was seeing, i was better off cutting my losses and buying a newer engine.
Luckily i stumbled accross outboard-maintenance.com.
Although the engine is slightly bigger than what Tony typically works on, he provided a flawless remote/whatsapp based consultancy and guidance service, which helped me to carry out the diagnostic steps and remedial work myself to get the engine back up and running.
Tony’s calm and methodical approach was invaluable to keeping me on the straight and narrow, and helping me stay positive despite numerous issues arising (sort one problem, but in fixing it, another underlying issue becomes apparent!)
Tony is a knowledgeable, experienced, and above all, friendly mechanic, who in my case atleast (but supported by the numerous other positive 5-star reviews on this page) went out of his way to help me.
